Mom’s famous Christmas lunch starter serves 10 (because all 5 of us goes for seconds!!).


400g Stokvis

2 medium boiled potatoes

1 Tin Curry fish (225g)

200ml mayonnaise

25ml chopped parsley

10ml lemon juice

Chopped parsley for garnish



  1. Steam Stokvis until it’s done. Remove the skin and bones and pull apart with a fork.
  2. Boil the potatoes with skin until soft. Remove the skin and cut into small bite size cubes.
  3. Mash the curry fish. Add the Stokvis, potatoes, parsley, lemon juice and salt and mix together lightly.

Moms tip: its best served chilled so prepare it the night before and refrigerate until serving time.

Best enjoyed with and on a bed of lettuce.
